Wildfire may be famous for the Wildfire Chopped Salad, but what you may not have known, is that Wildfire is one of the most gluten-free friendly restaurants offering a variety of menu options to try. But first, a little history: It all started more than 15 years ago when Howard Katz, President of Wildfire and Big Bowl met with Susie Blumenfeld, Founding Board Member of the University of Chicago’s Celiac Disease Center to discuss her daughter’s gluten allergy. Blumenfeld asked Katz if Wildfire would be able to create gluten-free dishes and that’s when the chef team developed this special menu. Today, gluten-free guests are not only provided a full menu of options, but for those with severe allergies, the chef team will use separate cutting boards, knives and bowls to avoid cross-contamination.
