Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, which is bringing teishoku (Japanese combo meal) to Streeterville, has announced more project details. Mr. Maki, from the team that created Lettuce concepts Sushi-San and Ramen-San, will open this spring in the space that once housed Tru (676 N. St. Clair St.)

Teishoku are set meals — combo platters, if you will, but portioned for individuals — typically combining miso soup, side dishes and a main protein on one large plate. At Mr. Maki, guests will select a main course (teriyaki, maki roll, stir-fried noodles), which will come with miso soup, salad and fried vegetables. There also will be an a la carte menu of maki rolls (the full menu, we’re told, is still a work in progress).

Mr. Maki’s 64 seats and 8-seat bar take up about half of the original Tru space; the other half belongs to the Streeterville location of Ramen-San (165 E. Huron St.), whose entrance is around the corner.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner. Carryout available; delivery service will be added down the road.

Keep track of progress at mrmaki.com, where you’ll also find a chance to win lunch for a year.
